Common issues and solutions

Updated over a week ago

Why is my mushroom's growth slow?

If your mushroom's growth is slow, there could be a few reasons why. Here are some common issues and solutions to them.

Temperature is too low

Check the optimal temperature range required for fruit body development of the specific species. The optimal temperature range is indicated on the cardboard packaging of the Pod. If it's adequate, there might have been past temperature issues affecting the cultivation duration.

Not enough humidity

Mushrooms need a certain level of humidity to grow. If the water tank is empty or the water level was previously too low, there may not be enough humidity in the device. Make sure to refill the tank or check the water levels. In nature, growth often follows rain, so it's important to ensure enough water for evaporation in the device. Fungi don't respire actively, so they rely on water for evaporation to create the necessary humidity.

Infection

Remove the Pod and check for any discoloration on the surface, such as green, yellow, or black. If you notice any discoloration, thoroughly disinfect the device before trying again.

In many cases, bacterial infection isn't visible to the naked eye. If the water in the tank is murky and not transparent, bacteria may have proliferated. Replace the water, disinfect the device, and contact our support team for further advice.

Conclusion

By following these tips, you should be able to troubleshoot and solve any issues. If you continue to have problems, don't hesitate to reach out to our support team for further assistance.
