Updated over 5 months ago

Why should I update my device’s firmware?

Firmware is a special kind of software that's built right into your device's hardware to manage its functions and operations.

It's crucial to keep your Shrooly device's firmware up to date because updates often bring performance enhancements, new features, and bug fixes that improve your overall experience.

Information and requirements

Your Shrooly device's firmware can be updated using the Shrooly app on your phone. The updating process takes about 25 minutes on iOS and 8 minutes on Android.

It is recommended to connect your Shrooly device to a Wi-Fi network before starting the firmware updating process. With Wi-Fi connected, the updating process is reduced to 2-3 minutes after your Shrooly has downloaded the new firmware.

Please ensure that the following is provided during the update:

  • Active, stable Bluetooth connection with your Shrooly is required.

  • It is recommended to keep the Shrooly app in the foreground on your phone for optimal file transfer speed.

  • Specific for iOS devices: Please make sure your phone has enough battery before you start the update process. iOS devices can heat up and drain the battery faster during updates.

The ongoing cultivation has to be stopped before starting the firmware updating process. When the firmware has been updated, you can start the cultivation program again.

Please note that the elapsed days will reset to zero when restarting your cultivation, however this does not affect your mushrooms as the current cultivation programs are looped.

Please note that your Shrooly device’s buttons and screen enter a different mode during the update process, and cannot be used until the update is finished.
